“[This] is not a pop record, per se, but the stuff of pop records collected, melted down, and then dribbled Jackson Pollock-style onto a canvas.” Pitchfork

“Gang Gang Dance is truly one of the greats of our time.” Time Off

The arc and trajectory on which Gang Gang Dance has propelled themselves since their inception can only be described in terms of evolution. Gang Gang Dance’s latest record ‘Eye Contact’ once again captures the experimental spirit that typified their landmark avant-pop release ‘Saint Dymphna’. Recorded with long-term collaborator Chris Coady (producer of recent releases by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Zola Jesus, Beach House and TV On The Radio), ‘Eye Contact’ displays equally a meticulous song craft and love of improv.

A band as indebted to dance culture as it is to the local New York art community with which they have close ties, we are pleased to announce that Gang Gang Dance will now be bringing their transcendental live shows to Australia’s unique and iconic performance spaces this December.

Already announced to perform in the Supernatural Amphitheatre at this year’s Meredith Music Festival, Gang Gang Dance will play the Corner Hotel on Wednesday December 7, as well as Brisbane’s multi-arts Powerhouse on Tuesday December 6 and The Studio at Sydney Opera House on Saturday December 10.
