PROGRAMMING AND PROMOTION — MALTHOUSE OUTDOOR STAGE
Eight months since the curtain came down on our last live music event, Penny Drop is proud to be among a group of key Melbourne arts and cultural organisations enlisted to launch the Malthouse Outdoor Stage (MOS), a new COVID-safe venue bringing performance to the courtyard of The Malthouse in Summer 2021.
Penny Drop presented two performances a night across 10 nights, from some of our favourite local artists, including Mildlife, Nai Palm, Sarah Mary Chadwick and Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, to sold-out audiences.
PROGRAMMING AND CONSULTING – MELBOURNE ZOO TWILIGHTS
A much-loved staple on Melbourne’s summer calendar, Zoo Twilights is an annual concert series where fans of all ages can watch their favourite artists in the lush outdoor surrounds of the Zoo, with all proceeds going towards Zoos Victoria’s work to save local threatened species from extinction. Since 2013, Penny Drop has programmed the artists performing at Zoo Twilights. Additionally, Penny Drop has a holistic approach to planning the events, which involves consulting to Melbourne Zoo on site, artist and punter experience; marketing and communications; staffing and more, in order to seamlessly deliver an event experience that now sells over 50,000 tickets each year.
EVENT PRODUCTION AND PROMOTION — GRILL FOR GOOD
A bushfire fundraiser event at Victoria Park, Abbotsford, hosted by Mac DeMarco and friends. Local artists, chefs, DJs and small businesses banded together to collect donations for the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities and Wildlife Victoria. Over 5,000 people attended the event, which sold out in a matter of hours and raised $210,000 for bushfire-affected communities.
